Our club is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about canicross, canisports, and creating a welcoming environment for all members.

Lorna Routledge
Founder | Qualified Canicross Coach
As the founder of the club, Lorna is the heart of the community. With a wealth of canicross experience and a deep understanding of working with reactive dogs through her own personal journey, she is passionate about helping others build confidence and strengthen the bond with their dogs.
Lorna enjoys running with her two dogs, Bear and Star. After rescuing Star in 2025, she has watched her grow in confidence and blossom into an incredible canicross partner, a journey that reflects Lorna’s patience, dedication, and belief in every dog’s potential.
A proud Tees Valley athlete, Lorna has represented England at the Canicross Nationals, bringing both experience and inspiration to the club. Whether she’s leading a run, offering advice, or welcoming new members, Lorna’s passion for the sport and its community shines through in everything she does.

Becca Miller
Founder
As one of the founders of the club, Becca is the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly. From organising the essential paperwork to making sure the club is fully insured and compliant, her dedication helps keep the community thriving.
Becca rescued and rehomed Ernie in December 2022. As her first dog, she admits she may have been a little naïve about what she was taking on! Bursting with enthusiasm and always ready for his next adventure, Ernie’s listening ears don’t always switch on, so off-lead time is kept to a minimum. Thankfully, canicross has become the perfect outlet, giving Ernie the freedom to run while Becca does her very best to keep up behind him!
Away from club runs, Becca and Ernie love exploring the great outdoors together, spending weekends hiking through the breathtaking landscapes of the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands. Her passion for adventure, combined with her commitment to the club, makes her an invaluable part of the community.

Claire McLaughlin
Canicross Coach | Social Media Co-ordinator
Running with her two whippets, Pip and Ivy, for a couple of years, Claire has well and truly caught the canicross bug. Claire loves taking on challenging, technical trails, with the North Yorkshire Moors being one of her favourite places to run.
While Claire enjoys the challenge of the trails, her real passion lies in the community side of canicross. She loves encouraging new people to get involved, helping build confidence, and creating a fun, welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the sport together.
When she’s not running, she enjoys hiking in the Lake District with Pip and Ivy, often combining her love of the outdoors with photography to capture the stunning landscapes and memorable adventures along the way
